OBITUARY.-Regret was expressed by residents when it was officially reported that Dvr. Norton O'Connor had died of illness on September 28 1943, in Thailand, and that Pte Ernest Wescombe was killed in action on Timor on March 15. 1942. Both spent their lives in the West Pine district, being members of the local Football and Cricket clubs. They enlisted in 1940.
