Smith, Stanley Derwent
Born 1893 Evandale Tasmania the son of Leonard Derwent and Louisa Elizabeth Smith (nee Schott) a painter he embarked Adelaide 24th June 1915 on board “HMAT Kanowna” with the 12th Infantry Battalion. He was serving with the 52nd Battalion when he was killed in action 4th September 1916 in France and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France. SMITH.-Killed in action on the 4th September.1916, Stanley Derwent Smith, eldest son of Leonard and Louisa Smith aged 24 years. He did his duty.
